Edward Louis Harris passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at his home in Tarboro.

Edward was born in Edgecombe County on March 15, 1942, to the late Louis Edwin Harris and Ruby Pearl Harris. Edward worked at Long Manufacturing for many years where he enjoyed working with metal.

When not working, he loved to fish and participate in all watersports. In fact, he collected quite an array of water vessels. He loved to watch old westerns on the GRIT channel, listening to gospel music, and spending time with his family.

Edward is survived by his son Bryant Harris of Tarboro, sister Ruby Mae Harris of Greenville and brother Bobby Lee Harris of Hobgood.

A Visitation will be held at Carlisle Funeral Home on Sunday, March 15, 2026, 6:00 – 8:00 PM.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Carlisle Funeral Home on Monday, March 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with burial following at Greenwood Cemetery in Tarboro.
