Elbert Lee "Tom" Ellrod, 88, passed away on Thursday, October, 19, 2017. He was the owner and operator of Long Trailer Company in Tarboro for many years. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church on Saturday at 11:00am with Pastor Jordon Willard officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. Tom is survived by his loving family which includes his wife of 67 years, Lillian Ellrod; daughters, Susan Ellrod, Dorothy Smith and husband, Chips, Lisa Gay and husband, Will, Becky Bartley and husband Charlie; grandchildren, Traye Smith and wife Noura, Brandon Smith, Hunter Gay and wife, Laura, Stuart Gay and wife, Sarah, Charles Bartley, Jr. and wife Katie, Claire Bartley; great grandchildren, Lilly Smith, Elsa Smith, Hartley Smith, Charles Gay; sister, Ann Bissette. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 730 W Wilson St., Tarboro, NC 27886. The family will receive friends and other relatives from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Carlisle Funeral Home, Inc., of Tarboro.
