Elisha Michael Singell, 33, of Fountain, North Carolina, passed away on June 22, 2026, in Everett, Washington.
Elisha spent the last decade doing exactly what he was built for - working on fishing and crabbing boats in Washington and Alaska, and he was exceptionally good at it! From the grueling king crab season, to halibut fishing on smaller vessels, he earned a reputation as the hardest worker on the water. The Bering Sea is no place for the faint of heart, and Elisha was anything but. No matter how brutal the conditions, his stubborn determination and playful spirit never wavered - he had a way of lifting everyone around him just by being there.
Elisha was also never just one thing. He was a deep thinker who read philosophy and played chess. He loved and rode motorcycles. He painted and drew with a beautiful eye, taught himself guitar, made homemade sushi for the people he loved, and kept his body strong so it could take him wherever he wanted to go. He went for things that were out of the realm of normal, and he lived a life he loved.
When he wasn't at sea, Elisha split his time between his family in North Carolina and his partner in Washington - camping, fishing, swimming, and going for walks. He was happiest when he was moving, creating, or in the company of the people he cared about. He had an unmatched kindness and was a generous friend to everyone he met.
He is survived by his partner, Rachel Rillera; parents, Keith and Racheal Singell; older brother Levi Singell and partner Kristen Matthews, with their children Reagan Grace, Levi Jr., and Ezra; older sister Krystyn DeBacco, and husband Corey, and children Chance, Ada, Ella, and Gabriel; younger sister Kaytlyn Singell; and his grandmother, Roberta Ustick.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 2:00 pm-3:00 pm, with a memorial service to directly follow from 3:00 pm-4:00 pm.
Service will be held at Faith Assembly Church, 5005 Corey Road, Winterville, NC 28590.
