Elizabeth Bunn Langston, 82, of Rocky Mount, NC, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 11, 1942, to the late Maude Wilson Bunn, and spent her youth in Tarboro, NC.
Known for her unique spirit, humor, and unconditional love, Elizabeth was cherished by all who knew her. As the head and heart of her family, she provided a foundation of love that made her home the center of every gathering and holiday celebration. She also held a special place in her heart for her dog, who was truly part of her family. Elizabeth lived independently until her passing, a testament to her resilience and strength.
Elizabeth devoted her life to caring for others. A dedicated nurse, she served at Nash General Hospital for more than 20 years before retiring. Her compassion, strength, and tireless work ethic touched countless lives.
She was an active and faithful member of Englewood Presbyterian Church, where she deeply loved her Bible study group and cherished her church family. Elizabeth's faith was her foundation, guiding her life of kindness, generosity, and devotion to others.
Elizabeth is survived by her four children: Terri (David) Groves, Donald (Martha) Ellis Jr., Mark (Jess) Ellis, and David (Crystal) Ellis; six grandchildren: Ashley, Billy, Heather, Tabitha, Reese, and Abe; and 8 great-grandchildren. Elizabeth also cherished her life long friendship with Joyce Joyner. She will be remembered with love by her family and friends whose lives were brightened by her care and laughter.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Englewood Presbyterian Church in Rocky Mount, followed by a service celebrating her life at 3:00 p.m.
Elizabeth will be dearly missed but forever remembered for her love and the joy she brought to everyone she met.
