Erica Michelle Griffin, 27, departed this life suddenly on May 3, 2018.  It is with profound sadness that her family acknowledges her passing was a result of the evil that is addiction.  This disease knows no boundaries and purports no prejudice.  Addiction is an equal opportunity killer.  Her addiction in no way defined her.  Erica was a sweet, loving and kind person who will be remembered always for her big heart and beautiful smile.  No person or family is immune to the devastation that this disease can bring.  We pray that others will get the help they need and this needless suffering can end.  Erica is no longer fighting her demons and we take comfort in knowing that she is in the hands of God.

She is survived by her loving family which includes her mother Beth Morris Griffin; grandparents, Larry and Mamie Morris; partner, Brandon Griffin; uncle, Larry Morris; aunt, Kimberly Daniels; cousin, Morgan Daniels; Mitzi Fisher and Patsy Tucker and all her extended family.

Heartfelt thanks to all who have prayed for her and looked out for her over the years most especially Mitzi and Patsy.

Funeral service will be held Monday, May 7, 2018 at 3:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home in Tarboro with Reverend Johnny Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Carlisle Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 pm and other times at the home of Larry and Mamie Morris, 703 South Ave., Tarboro, N.C.
