Ethel Mae Hagans Mears, 89, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024.

Visitation will be at 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Carlisle Funeral Home with service following in the chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lucy Hagans; sisters, Irene Brown and Lois Wombles; and brother, David Hagans.

Ethel is survived by her son, Johnnie Mears of Tarboro; daughter, Jean Suggs of Roanoke Rapids; grandson, Christian Shane Suggs; granddaughter, Amber Nicole Johnson and her husband Mark; great grandson, Anthony Johnson; and very special niece, Cathy Etheridge; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friend at Johnnie's home 801 Linden Street, Tarboro, NC 27886.
