In the very early morning of Thursday, July 14, 2022, Ethel King Lewis Bryant left this physical world and entered the realm of her beloved Lord and Father. She was surrounded by her loving family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Carlisle Funeral Home with Reverend Exum Harrell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00-4:00 PM. Interment will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park, Tarboro, NC.

Ethel was born in Macclesfield, NC to Warren Thomas Lewis and Ida Norville Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bryant, Sr., her son, Warren Lewis Bryant (Butch), her sisters, Allene Lewis Braddy and Frances Weathersbee.

She is survived by her sons, Ralph Bryant, Jr. and Julian Arthur Bryant (Art), of Tarboro; daughter Sharon Bryant Wooten and son-in-law Jim Wooten, of Tarboro; daughter-in-law Sara Lowe Bryant, of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren Kevin Bryant (Stacy)of Clover, SC, Tyler Bryant, of Charlottesville, VA, Cally Bryant Sullivan (Justin), of Charlottesville, VA; great-grandchildren, Luke and Dylan Bryant, of Clover, SC and Sia Sullivan, of Charlottesville, VA; sisters, Dean Lee (Calvin), of Tarboro, NC; Lynda Smith (Ronald), of Dunbar, NC; brother Charlie Warren Lewis (Miriam), of Tarboro, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ethel attended Mayo School and Bethel School. She worked for Edgecombe County Board of Elections in Tarboro, NC until she chose to retire. Working in her yard was where she could be found most days. Cooking was also an enjoyment to her. She was an excellent cook; everyone enjoyed sharing meals at her table.
