Etheleen Lane, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2025 at the age of 100.  Etheleen was born on November 10, 1925 in Greene County to the late W.O. Fields and Carrie Hill Fields.  She was a beacon of quiet strength and kindness for all who knew her.

She married Joseph Lane on May 18, 1946.  Together they raised three daughters: Barbara, Debra and Kim.  She will always be remembered for her gentle spirit, incredible cooking and most of all, her strong love and faith for the Lord.

In addition to her parents, Etheleen was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joseph Lane; daughter, Debra Liles and son-in-law, Raymond Wiler. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Wiler and Kimberly Hood; sons-in-law, Benny Hood and Logan Liles; grandchildren, Pamela Campbell, Karen Mills, Rachel Groves, Sarah Pittman, Matthew Liles, Kayla Bowles and Sabrina Hays; ten great-grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name to Pinetops Baptist Church (710 W. Hamlet St., Pinetops, NC 27864).

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, December 18, from 5:30 – 7:00 PM at Carlisle Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 7:00 PM in the Carlisle Funeral Home Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Pineview Cemetery in Pinetops, NC.
