Evelyn Brown Britt, age 85, of Tarboro, North Carolina, passed away on November 20, 2024.  Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 1, 1939, she was the daughter of Harry and Beatrice (Boyd) Brown.  She was the wife of the late Judge George Milton Britt.

Evelyn grew up in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She attended Woman's College in Greensboro, North Carolina where she obtained her degree in education.  She was instrumental in establishing Calvary Episcopal Church Preschool, which is still a thriving preschool for the community.  She taught at Edgecombe Community College in the learning lab and the GED program for many years until she retired.

Evelyn is predeceased by her husband, George Milton Britt and her twin sister, Ellen White.  She is survived by her son, Retired Judge John Milton Britt and wife, Sharon Rose Britt of Bath, North Carolina, grandson, John Milton Britt, Jr. of Tarboro, and a niece, Joan White Fernandez of Bel Air, Maryland.

A memorial service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church in All Saints Chapel on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edgecombe Community College Foundation and Samaritan's Purse for Hurricane Helene Relief(Western North Carolina).
