Mrs. Evelyn Burdette entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on August 16, 2022, at her home after months of declining health.

Visitation will be at 12:30 - 2:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Carlisle Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Carlisle Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Crabtree. Burial will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park.

She married the love of her life George Burdette on July 2, 1949, theirs was a love story that would span over 63 years until his death in 2012.

A true "Southern Belle" Evelyn lived her life with Faith, Grace, and a Love for all. Her sweet soft voice and smile will be missed by all that knew her. If one statement defined her life, it would be…SHE LOVED.

She is survived by her sons that she adored, Terry (Nancy) and Tim (Patricia); her grandchildren, Mark (Amy), Jessica (Heather), Cameron (Hannah), Amber, Delaina (Matt); and special friends, Doris and Alton Strickland; 5 great grandchildren, and sister, Joan Flyod.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. George Burdette, her parents, Fred and Alphia Owens; brother, Ralph Owens; sister, Evon Simmons; and grandchildren, Tony Dale Burdette and Tiffany Taylor.
