Evelyn Wood, 91, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 2:00pm in Edgecombe Memorial Park Mausoleum. She was preceded in death by her husband, USMC Retired Col. J.W. Wood formally of Tarboro, NC. Evelyn is survived by her loving family which includes Greg Sansig, Jim Wood, II, Jeannie Yarborough, Brian Wood, Stephen Wood, Mark Wood, Kathryn Wood and David Wood; many grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends and other relatives at Carlisle Funeral Home on Friday from 1:00-2:00pm. Arrangements are by Carlisle Funeral Home, Inc., of Tarboro.
