Frances Dorman “Mema” Tripp, 86, passed on Sunday, April 5, 2026.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Carlisle Funeral Home.

Frances found her greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially those that brought her outdoors. She loved tending to her flowers, cutting the grass, and carefully raking up her pinecones. Her love for animals was unmistakable, especially when it came to her beloved baby, Buddy, who held a very special place in her heart.

She cherished her routines and favorite comforts, enjoying Bojangles, sipping on a Diet Coke, and never missing her hair appointments. Frances looked forward to special traditions like Super Bowl Sunday and March Madness, and she always cooked black-eyed peas for good luck, a custom she held dear. She treasured getting fresh chicken eggs from her family, a small but meaningful reminder of connection and care. Above all, Frances will be remembered as a loving mother, Mema, sister, and friend whose warmth and devotion touched everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynwood and Maidline McLawhorn Dorman; son, Steve Tripp; and brother, R.L. Dorman.

Frances is survived by her granddaughter, Jennifer Barefoot (Caleb Braswell); great granddaughter, MaKayla Gordon; great grandson, Dylan Gordon; and great great granddaughter, Aa’liyah Richardson.
