Frankie Allen James, 70, passed away Friday, August 21, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be 2:00 - 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Tarboro Church of God with the funeral service following at 3:00 pm.

He was born July 30, 1956, to Johnnie E. James and Inez Dixon James in Tarboro, NC.

In addition to his parents Frankie was preceded in death by brother, Johnnie Ervin James Jr. and sister, Ann Robbins Pilgreen.

Frankie is survived by wife, Loreta; sister, Yvonne James Allsbrook of Tarboro; brother, Ernest E. James (friend, Marie) of Asheboro; sister, Magalene James Staton (husband, Howard) of Tarboro; brother, Billy Ray James of Tarboro; sister-in-law, Dolly Grimmer James of Wilson; and his devoted lifetime friend, Jess Hudson of Tarboro. He had a great number of nieces and nephews.

Frankie enjoyed sports, especially football, beach music, NASCAR racing, fishing and golf. He loved preparing his famous Mac-N-Cheese. He was funny, sarcastic, good-hearted and a deeply loving individual. Not one for hugs but when he was around, the world was a better place.

You can smile right now knowing how he would tell and RETELL his stories. He enjoyed his work, jobs and meeting people. His character led him to be surrounded by many friends. For every conversation there was a new joke that he so seamlessly executed.

Frankie would do anything in his power for his family and friends. He was a strong presence and will be greatly missed.

The family will be receiving friends from now until the time of the service at the home of Maggie and Howard Staton, 204 Pescud Street, Tarboro, NC 27886.
