Frederick Alton "Dick" Hardy, 85, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at his home with his loving family at his side.  Funeral service will be held Monday, April 1, 2019, 2:00 pm at St James United Methodist Church with Rev. Nathan Whitman and Rev. Caswell Shaw officiating.

Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.  Family will receive friends Monday, April 1, 2019 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at St. James United Methodist Church.  Memorial gifts may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, Tarboro.

He is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 66 years, Carrie Leary Hardy; daughter, Kim Hardy Harrelson; sons, Alton Dale Hardy (Yvonne), Keith Hardy (Angela);

Grandchildren, Ashley Hardy Lane (Christian), Ruthanne Hardy Baird (Joshua), Ben Harrelson, Stacey Harrelson Miller (David), Grace Harrelson, Madison Hardy, Abigail Hardy;

Great grandchildren, Adalyn, Emma, Noah, Evie, Kinsley; Brother, Jerry Hardy (Sophia), and many loving family members and friends.

Dick retired from U.S. Postal Service after many years of service.  He enjoyed working for years st the Suburban Grill founded by his parents Clarence and Susie Hardy in the 1950s.  After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with this grandkids, attending church, and playing cards with friends.
