Gay Lynn Lucas, 68, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at her home. She was born February 17, 1954, in Nash County to the late Avery Homer Massey and Ballard Massey Young. Gay Lynn was a home maker who loved her family, friends, and fur babies. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brandon Pitt and father-in-law, Frank Lucas.

Gay Lynn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was affectionately known as Mema by her grandchildren. She retired from Cummings Feed in Enfield, NC where she worked for many years as a bookkeeper. Gay Lynn was an avid reader and loved spending time doing crossword puzzles, taking to her friends and family, and watching her favorite tv shows. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and taking trips to the mountains. Gay Lynn will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and fur babies.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 23 years, Troy Lucas of Tarboro; brother, Tommy Massey (Rhonda) of Nashville; mother-in-law, Kathy Lucas of Tarboro; brother-in-law, Tracy Lucas of Tarboro; stepson, Landon Lucas (Ashley) of Fuquay Varina; grandchildren, Chandler and Connor Pitt (their mother, Shannon Pitt) of Nashville and Lily Grace Lucas of Fuquay Varina.

Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00–8:00 PM on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Carlisle Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at a later time.
