George Lionel Johnson, 69, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021.

George was born in Edgecombe County on October 13, 1951 to Lionel Walter Johnson and Vallie Lancaster Johnson.

A Celebration of Life for George will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at The Corner Venue, Tarboro, NC with Military Honors. Visitation will follow the service.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Georgia Johnson Gay.

He is survived by his wife, Melanie W. Johnson; step-children, Whitney H. Barfield, Victoria D. Medford, Cody R. Medford; brother, Terry Johnson; sister, Valerie Johnson Blanton; grandson, Jackson Gay; former wife, Ann Johnson; and his fur-friend, Maggie.

George will forever be missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
