George Earl Kennedy peacefully left his loving family and friends on Friday December 1, 2017.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, December 4, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Royce Williams officiating. Visitation will be following the service.

He was born on August 17, 1948 in Halifax County to the late Charlie Earl and Hazel Pierce Kennedy. He is preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Annie Lois Whitley.

He is survived by his loving wife Debra Watson Kennedy and son, Charlie Earl Kennedy of the home. Surviving children; Phyllis Harrell, Cindy Waters, Carolyn Mitchell (husband Doug), Georgia Kennedy, Emily Kennedy, Gwen Cockrell (husband Melvin), Rusty Eason (wife Barbara), Danette Bridgers (Ricky), B.J. Bridgers (wife Amanda).

Surviving also are sisters, Cathy Perry, Geraldine Surles, Janet Lancaster and Alvina Earp. Surviving brothers are Tom Kennedy and Allan Kennedy (wife Michelle). He had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a special relationship with Roy and Cindy Bryant and Carl Whitaker.

George was a life time mechanic, owner/operator of G & G Service Center. In addition to his love for his family, he had a passion for fishing. He was a former member of Coastal Plains Bass Tracker giving him many fishing buddies.
