Geraldine Harrelson Scott, 78, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Columbus County to Acie and Pauline Harrelson on July 29, 1947. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great- great grandmother.  She enjoyed traveling, going to the mountains, taking cruises, and especially spending time with her extended family.

She was employed with Sprint (CT&T) for more than 25 years prior to retirement.  After retirement from Sprint, she went to work at Walmart as a greeter.  While at Walmart, she met many people who became her friends that she dearly loved.

In addition to her parents, Geraldine is preceded in death by her husband Ralph, sisters; Alice Britt (Andy), Jenellia Lewis (Alton), brother, Allen Harrelson (Marie), daughter, Pamela Whitehurst, son-in-law, Timothy Nichols, and grandson, Ryan Scott and her fur baby, Cody

Geraldine is survived by her children; Crystal Nichols, James Keith Owens, Kevin Earl Scott (Tracy), Christopher Stuart Scott (Katherine), and Ralph Scott Jr., grandchildren; Brandon Nichols, Justin Nichols (Kyndle), Bryan Owens (Kasey), Corey Owens (Alisha), Josh Owens, Melissa Scott, Mary Taylor (Tootie), Stacey Whitehurst (Jennifer), Kyle Whitehurst (Amy), Travis Johnson, and Dustin Johnson, sister, Janice Roebuck, and son-in-law, Allen Whitehurst.  She had 22 great grandchildren, 6 great - great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

The family would like to thank the staff at Tarboro Health and Rehab and Gentiva Hospice for the loving care they provided.

Her smiles and laughter will be missed dearly by all that loved her.  She spent her last days enjoying the company of her family.

The Family will receive friends and family at Carlisle Funeral Home on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 6 until 8 PM, with a graveside being held at Edgecombe Memorial Park on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 2 PM.
