IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gilbert Steve
Proctor
March 30, 1959 – October 22, 2020
Gilbert "Steve" Proctor, age 61, of Temperance Hall passed away peacefully on October 22. Born in Edgecombe county on March 30, 1959, he was the son of the late Genevive Proctor Paige and James Ernest Proctor and step-son of the late Ashley Vernon Paige.
Steve possessed a strong work ethic and enjoyed his career with Lambert's Cable Splicing Co., from which he retired this year after 42 years of service. When he wasn't working or spending time with his family, you could find him fishing along side a good friend. He loved the simple things in life, and especially enjoyed watching Carolina Tarheels , Minnesota Vikings and Nascar racing. He was a very giving man and always willing to help others.
Steve leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Kathy Tindall Proctor, he lovingly called, "Shorty". A devoted and loving father and grandfather, he also leaves behind his son, Ernest Steve Proctor and wife, Misty; his grandchildren, Marlee Proctor and Elijah Proctor, all of Nashville; Step-son, Brian Tindall; Brothers, Wayne Proctor(Debra), Doug Proctor(Debbie), Alvin Proctor, Howard Proctor(Darla), Billy Paige(Jane), Marc Paige(Barbara); Half-sister, Angela Sheppard; Special Brother-in-law, Ricky Sessoms; several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind several co-workers and friends he made over the years with Lamberts Cable Splicing Co.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Kindred Hospice team from Tarboro, Melissa Adcox, Allison Banaszak, Amy Debnam, Brenda Ewuell, Verica Ward, and Rinson Weathers, MD. The care, comfort, and advice was such a blessing during the time of need.
Due to the Covid-19, a private funeral officiated by Rev. Deemus Allen Pulliam for family and closest friends will be held at a later time at Edgecombe Memorial Park.
