Gladys Harrell Skinner, 93, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Gladys was born September 4, 1925 to Floyd Thomas and Mattie Ruth Bridgers Harrell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie (Dick) Skinner and her daughter-in-law, Lois Fleming Skinner.

Gladys is survived by her loving family, including her daughter, Joan White (Glenn) of Wake Forest, NC; son, Donnie Skinner of Pinetops, NC; grandchildren, Donnie Skinner, Jr. (Tammy) of Pinetops; Wesley Black of Youngsville, NC; Catherine Black (Chris) of Hailey, Idaho; and Douglas Black ( Laura) of Salida, Colorado; great-grandchildren, John Skinner of Tarboro, Katie Skinner Pinetops,  Odin Black, Astrid Black both of Salida, Colorado and Xavier Watson of Hailey, Idaho; half-sisters Louvenia Stancill, Florence Shapiro, Marie Cobb, Shirley Bryant and Betty Moore; sisters-in-law Mabel Skinner Edwards and Martii Sherrod and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, 2:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home with Reverend  Stanley E. Buck, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Family will receive  other relatives and friends Saturday from 1:00 – 2:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home.
