Glenda Best Pittman went to be with her Lord on February 7, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. She died as she lived "her way".

Her dying wish was to visit The Biltmore House in Asheville, NC, and her son and his family made this trip possible for her. She wasn't able to fulfill her wish due to being hospitalized at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC under Hospice Care. Glenda was born February 13, 1943, to the late John & Thelma Best.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Marion Travis Pittman and her brothers Ronald & Raymond Best and her sisters Huldah Bissette & Janice Jomp. She leaves to cherish her son, Marty, and wife Zelphia of Tarboro, grandchildren Michael & wife Heather of Middlesex & Austin of Tarboro and his girlfriend Abby Williams of Kenley, and grand fur children Duke & Prince whom she cherished very much. She leaves to cherish several nieces & nephews. Her joys in life were watching Duke basketball games on TV with her family and spending time with her two grandsons

Due to COVID-19 the family has foregone arrangements and will have a memorial service for both her & Marion at a later date.
