IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Grace Marie
Bland
April 2, 1948 – December 28, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Grace Bland was the most giving person anyone could have ever known. Always putting others before herself, she would have gladly given you the shirt off her back, no questions asked. Her love knew no bounds, and she made sure everyone around her felt cared for, supported, and valued.
She was the glue that held our family together, the one who always made sure there was love, laughter, and warmth in every room. Her laughter was contagious, and her caring heart was the anchor for all of us, no matter how far apart we were. Her love for her children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was unshakable, and she truly cherished her family.
Grace is now reunited with her beloved husband Big Daddy "Allen" Bland and grandchild Howard "Buddy" Whitfield, who are waiting for her in Heaven. While we know she is at peace, our hearts are broken. She leaves behind her four children, Howard "Runt" Whitfield (Crystal), Billie Jo Whitfield, Douglas (Misty) Whitfield, Brian Allen (Kathy) Whitfield, and Jeff (Dana) Bland, 10 grandchildren, and a growing number of great-grandchildren, along with brothers, sisters and friends, all of whom will miss her deeply.
We take comfort in knowing that her love will live on in all of us. Grace was not just a mother and grandmother; she was a true gift to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever be missed, but we will carry her love with us every day, honoring her by being as giving, loving, and kind as she was. Rest in peace, Mom. You were loved beyond measure.
Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 PM at Carlisle Funeral Home with the service following at 1:30 PM in the Chapel on January 10, 2025.
