Helen J. Simms, 86, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, at home with her family by her side.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Edgecombe Memorial Park with Pastor Ronnie Clemmons officiating.

Helen was born in Pitt County to the late William Henry and Annie Hardy Tripp, March 27, 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Simms, Sr., daughter, Barbara A. Simms Alderman, sons-in-law, Johnny Bailey, and Danny Alderman.

She is survived by her loving family, including sons, John W. Simms, Jr. (Martha), Bobby A. Simms (Mae), daughters, Helen M. Baker (Danny), Debra S. Bailey, grandchildren, Melissa Simms (Terry), J.D. Simms (Elaine), Kristopher Simms (Lisa), Christina Proctor (David), Danny Baker, Jr. (Stacey), Amanda Calhoun (Josh), and Jennifer Pearson (Corey), 11 great- grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home on Tuesday, from 6:00–8:00 pm and other times at the home, 209 Dowd St., Tarboro, N.C.
