Helen Briley Whitehurst, 80, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, January 19, 2018 in Bethel Cemetery, Bethel, NC with Rev. Ray Barnhill officiating. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond Brown, Kenneth Whitehurst and J.B. Briley; son, Sonny Brown; daughter, Carolyn "Shug" Brown. Helen is survived by her daughters, Lela M. Taylor, Helen Darlene Lynn (Earl), of Rocky Mount; son, Lynwood "Timmy" Brown, of New Bern; brother, Jimmy Cashwell, of Sanford, Richard Cashwell, of New Bern; 13 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday from 1:00-2:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home and other times at the home of Kim Taylor, 130 Ridge Rd., Battleboro, NC.
