Hilton Ray Staton, 65, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 at his home in Raleigh, N.C.

He was born in Edgecombe County on January 13, 1954 to Ashley Owen Staton and Dorothy Barfield Staton.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Ashley and Dorothy B. Staton.

He is survived by his brother Howard Staton and his wife Magalene J.Staton, of Tarboro; nephew Jonathan Brooks Harrell and wife Dana (Taylor and Carter), of Winston Salem; niece Jessica Harrell Owens (Jordan, Raegan and Carmen), of Rocky Mount.

The family will receive friends at the home of Howard and Maggie Staton, 1400 Old County Home Road, Tarboro, N.C. on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro, N.C. with the Pastor Billy Crabtree and Pastor Sammy Wood officiating.
