Ivey Rudolph
Owens
October 5, 1935 – November 20, 2017
Tarboro
Ivey "Laddie" Rudolph Owens passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Monday, November 20, 2017. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 22, in Edgecombe Memorial Park. Ivey retired from Long Manufacturing in 1998 after years of dedicated service. After retirement Ivey enjoyed sitting in his shop changing tires and helping people that came by. The children of Ivey would like to thank Samaritan's Purse for all they have done to give Ivey a home where he felt safe. Even though he didn't get to enjoy it long, he well enjoyed it for the time that he had. He was born on October 5, 1935 in Wilson, NC to Herman Earl Owens and Mollie Lee Owens. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ginger Faye Adcock, Shirley Adcock; brothers, Herman Lee Owens, Durwood H. Owens; and ex-wife Margaret Bassinger. Ivey is survived by a loving family which includes his ex-wife, Hazel Owens Harper, of Tarboro; daughters, Cathy O'Neal and Marty, of Williamston, Ivy Vaughn, of Durham, Teresa L. Robinson and Billy, of Pinetops, Connie Gilbert and Billy, of Tarboro; son, Ivey Rudolph Owens, Jr., of Tarboro; sister, Carol Boisvert, of Venice, Florida; brother, Boyce Owens and Joyce, of Tarboro; and a very special care taker, Donna; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
