James Albert Bobbitt Jr., 82, a native of Edgecombe County passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025

Jimmy was born in Tarboro and spent the majority of his life there. He was a proud graduate of Tarboro High School. Shortly after he enlisted in the United States Marines for 4 years of active service.

He graduated from East Carolina University.

Later he was in the United States Army Reserve for 6 years. Then he enlisted in the United States Navy Reserve for 12 years. This gave him a total of 22 years of military service.

His favorite past time was reading.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Annie Lee Bobbitt; his brothers, Fred, Richard, Pete and Henry.

He is survived by his son, Jamie Bobbitt (Christy); 2 grandchildren, Hunter and Emily; and a sister, Edith.
