James "Rod" Rodger Williams, III 53, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC with his loving family by his side.

A graveside service will be held Monday, October 28, 2019, 2:30 pm at Oak City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm at Carlisle Funeral Home on Monday.

James was born March 14, 1966 to James and Elizabeth J. Williams in Portsmouth, Va. James was a superintendent of a home contracting company for many years. He enjoyed the country life, spending time with his family, friends and with his fur babies, Tiger and Bella. There also were many chickens and ducks that he raised and cared for. James will be greatly missed by all who knew his loving, happy, selfless personality. He will be especially missed by his grandkids, who he cherished.

He is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 23 years, Jeri Reed Williams; children, Jamie Rice (Leah), Jay Williams, Summer Drake (Marco), Shawn Williams, Dawn Peltonen (Jordan) and Jason Reed, nephew whom lived with James and family for many years as a beloved son,; Mother, Elizabeth Fortin; sister, Christine Jennings; grandchildren, Brady, Haylie, James, Brianna, Jackson, and Effy.
