Jamey Lauraunce Britt Collie, 62, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Born on November 1, 1962, Jamey was the beloved daughter of James and Betty Britt. A proud graduate of Southwest Edgecombe High School, Class of 1981, she went on to work at Carolina Telephone, where she dedicated more than 25 years of service with loyalty and heart.

Above all else, Jamey was a devoted mother and grandmother—her greatest pride and the source of her deepest joy. Her love for her children and grandchildren was unwavering, and she treasured every moment spent in their presence.

Jamey had a true appreciation for life's simple pleasures. She loved a good rainstorm, often found peace on her screened-in porch with a book in hand and the sound of thunder rolling in the distance. She was full of life, quick to laugh, and always knew how to turn an ordinary day into something special.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Collie; her parents, James and Betty Britt; her daughters, Jessica Britt Manning and grandson Jameson of Tarboro, and Carrie Elise Collie and grandsons Carson and Liam of Greenville. She also leaves behind her sister, LuLu Britt Eberle, and husband Chris of Zebulon; her niece, Elaura Eberle Reyna (David), and great-nephews Rylan and Porter of Wendell; and her nephew, Matthew Eberle, and great-nieces Ahlea and Emilea.

A private celebration of Jamey's life will be held at a later date.
