Janet Rawls Trevathan, 70, passed away Monday, November 12, 2018. She was born November 7, 1948 in Scotland Neck and was the oldest child of James Robert Rawls and Rachel Pinwell Rawls. She graduated from Tarboro High School in 1967, attended Peace College, and received her Associates Degree in Accounting from Edgecombe Community College.
She worked as a quality administrator at AEL Span. In her spare time she enjoyed shag dancing and attending beach music concerts and festivals, especially to see her favorite band Too Much Sylvia. She also loved camping with her grandchildren and made everyone's favorite banana pudding. She lived her life to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Rachel Rawls, and her husband, Robert "Pete" Goerch Trevathan.
She is survived by her loving family, including sons Michael (Mikie) Trevathan and his wife, Elizabeth Trevathan, Scott (Scotty) Trevathan and his wife, Mary Archer, and her sisters Connie Hunt and husband Keith Hunt, and Robin Angelo and husband Michael Angelo.
She is also survived by her fiancé Richard Griffin, his daughter Kendall Griffin Clark, and grandchildren Payton, Ryleigh, Willa, Jaxey, and Lyla Clark, who called her "MeMa"; her grandchildren Tanner and Payton Trevathan and Katelin Smith; and her great grandchild River Taylor.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Sammy Wood officiating. Family will receive friends and other relatives on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Carlisle Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Connie and Keith Hunt.
