Janice Cooke Ward, age 89 of Tarboro passed away Friday, May 10, 2024 in the Spring Arbor Nursing Center, Rocky Mount, NC.

Janice was preceded in death by her father and mother, Perry Vann and Elender Mitchell Cooke. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Retired Tarboro Police Chief Ernest Ward.

She is survived by her son and wife Mark Etheridge and Sopfia Wilson Ward of Tarboro.

Janice moved up the ranks at Carolina Telephone & Telegraph/Sprint and retired after 39 years of service concluding in 1993.

Special thanks to the staff at Spring Arbor Memory Care unit and UNC Nash Hospice for all the care and love they showed her and her family.

The family will receive friends and family from 1 PM until service time which is 2 PM at Greenwood Cemetery, May 13, 2024.
