Jean Wooten Harris, age 82 of Tarboro, passed away on April 25, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late David Earl and Minnie Morris Wooten on September 16, 1942, in Edgecombe County.

The family will receive friends and family on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Carlisle Funeral Home.

Jean was a faithful follower of Jesus and attended the Tarboro Church of God. She lived her life for Jesus and was a believer till the end. Now she has fought the good fight and kept the faith, and she will spend eternity with Jesus Christ. Jean worked and retired from Doug Henry Chevrolet of Tarboro after working more than 40 plus years. She enjoyed reading, Crossword Puzzles, going to the river, and planting flowers. Jean loved sitting on the porch. Her husband, Edward, said she was a great cook. She won't come back to us but we can go to her.

Her caregiver, Melissa said, "I had the Honor of taking care of the most beautiful soul. Jean was a beautiful woman inside and out. She had a kind smile that would melt your heart. Jean was a godly woman and loved her family and friends unconditionally."

Jean is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edward L. Harris of the home; son, Bryant Harris; sisters, Faye Webb and Pearl Hardee; her brother, David L. Wooten; her brother-in-law, Bobby Lee Harris and sister-in-law, Ruby Respass.

A Celebration of Jean's Life will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Carlisle Funeral Home with the interment following in Greenwood Cemetery, Tarboro, NC.
