Jean Whitehurst Zachary, 85, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM in Bethel Cemetery on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.

Jean was born in Pitt County on August 8, 1935 to the late Richard Russell Whitehurst and Maude Thomas Whitehurst.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clayborn Zachary; granddaughter, Regina Rochelle Anderson; sisters, Betty Manning, Elsie Bell, Joyce Hintz; brother, Thomas Whitehurst.

She is survived by her loving family which includes her son, Russell Zachary (Mandy Ray); daughter, Patricia Anderson (Gary); grandsons, Kenny, Dane and David Zachary; great-grandson, Nicolas Zachary; sister, Sandra Dail (Willie), brother, Robert Whitehurst (Mary Ann); and several special nieces and nephews.
