Obituary

Jimmie Poole, 77 of Nashville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026.

Born in Roxboro, North Carolina, Jimmie lived a life defined by faith, service, kindness and an unwavering devotion to family and friends.

Jimmie graduated from Wingate College and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Following his military service, he built a life centered on hard work, integrity, and caring for others. He was a faithful and active member of Englewood Baptist Church, where his quiet faith and servant’s heart left a lasting impact on those around him.

Above all else, Jimmie cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 56 years, Eady Poole; his son Jay Poole and daughter-in-law, Hania; and his treasured grandchildren, Sophie and Jack. He is also survived by his sister, Sandi Hughes, and his brother, John Poole.

He was known for his genuine kindness and his ability to make everyone feel welcome. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Friends and family alike admired his positive spirit, gentle demeanor, and the fact that he simply never had a bad word to say about anyone. His caring nature extended beyond his family to his friends, neighbors, and church community, and everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

When he wasn’t spending time with loved ones, Jimmie could often be found pursuing two of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed playing golf with friends and found peace fishing in the pond behind his home. Those simple pleasures reflected the way he lived life-appreciating relationships, enjoying the outdoors, and finding joy in everyday moments.

His legacy lives on through the family he loved, the friends he cherished, and the countless lives he touched through his kindness, humility and generosity. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” - Matthew 25:23
