Dr. Jim W. Strickland passed away peacefully at his home in Blounts Creek, NC on the Pamlico River, where he enjoyed his retirement hunting and fishing.

He served in the Army. He had a doctorate degree in ministries.

A graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Edgecombe Memorial Park with Reverend Gordon Braxton officiating.

He was preceded by his son, W.D. Billy Strickland; grandson, Alex Strickland; and father, Armie Frank Strickland.

He is survived by his son, Jim Strickland, Jr. of Tarboro, Jeff Strickland (Christy) of Texas, Jason and Ryan Strickland of Georgia; mother, Joyce Buck; sisters, Dianne Wallace (Gregg) and Janet Keel; brothers, Jeff and Patrick of Atlanta, Georgia, and David McCard of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
