John Ivey Brown, 78, of Nags Head, NC passed away December 22, 2021. He was born in Norfolk, VA, October 14, 1943, to Joseph Carl Brown and Virginia Dare Brown. As a child he was a resident of Macclesfield.

John graduated from South Edgecombe High School in Pinetops, NC, and then went on to work for Virginia Electric and Power Company while serving 6 years in the National Guard for his country.

John had an inseparable friendship with so many lifetime friends, from his hometown Pinetops, NC from years ago. As well as friends and golfers at Sea Scape Golf Course in Kitty Hawk over 20 some years. He had a true, kind soul that touched everyone he met. (Rest in Paradise we love you)

Better known as John Ivey, he is survived by his loving companion of 24 years, Nancy Morgan; son Justin Brown; bonus son and daughter-in-law of Nancy's, Anthony and Melissa Morgan; brother, Henry Brown (Elaine), of Pinetops, NC; and sister, Susie Williams (Vernon), of Goldsboro, NC.

Preceding John in death, his mother and father, Joseph and Virginia Brown of Pinetops, NC; brothers, J.C. Brown and Maynard Brown of Pinetops, NC; and sister, Nancy Nobles of Pinetops, NC.

Graveside with Military Rites will be held at Queen Anne Cemetery on Friday, December 31, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Jimmy Dale officiating.

Carlisle Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
