John Michael Fowler, 66, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, N.C.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Carlisle Funeral Home, at 2:00 pm. The family will visit with friends following the service.

Michael proudly served his country in U. S. Navy having served on USS Cora Sea  and USS Raleigh Ships. For many years at Christmas, Michael enjoyed dressing as Santa Claus, visiting Bud's Grill and other local business,  private Christmas parties, but most of all watching the young kids having a big smile on their faces, in seeing Santa Claus. He will be greatly missed.

Michael was born in Edgecombe County to John and Harriett Jones Fowler on February 26, 1954, In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Fowler and a brother, Ray Fowler.

He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 13 years, Julie P. Fowler; daughter, Angie Holland and her husband, Patrick; brother, Donald Fowler and his wife, Lynne; grandchildren, Amber, Nicholas, Matthew and Lyla; nieces and nephews, Shannon Avery, Tim Bailey, Eva Brantley and Crystal Gorham.
