John "Rodgers" Leggett, born May 5, 1956, passed away on Wednesday, October 12th 2022 at his home surrounded by family.

Rodgers was preceded in death by his parents, William Vance and Peggy Rodgers Leggett, his brother, James Warren Leggett and his daughter Jessica Rodgers Leggett.

He is survived by is wife of 39 years Gwen Bullock Leggett, his daughter Claire Marie McFadyen (John), twin grandsons Colin Vance McFadyen and Duncan Reed McFadyen, brothers and sister Vance Leggett (Margaret), Chauncey Leggett (Tammie), Bruce Leggett (Ellen) and Margarette Leggett (Denis) as well as many beloved nephews and nieces.

Rodgers was a graduate of Rocky Mount Academy where his fondest memories were those on the football field. Along with his brother, Chauncey, they founded and operated Lake Valley Well Co. until 2005. He was an avid lover of the coast and spent much of his time on the Pamlico River boating, fishing and netting.

A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery Tarboro, NC on Sunday October 16th 2022 at 1:30 pm. The family will host visitation following the service at the home of Chauncey and Tammie Leggett 35 Brother's Way, Lake Valley from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
