In Memory of John Timothy "Tim" Rhodes

July 25, 1960 – July 15, 2025

John Timothy Rhodes, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2025, leaving behind a love of gospel and bluegrass music and a lifetime passion for electrical work.

Born on July 25, 1960, John was known for his strong work ethic and dedication as an electrician supervisor, a career where he earned respect for his skill. Beyond his trade, John found joy in writing gospel music. He was a true fan of NC State Wolfpack as well.

As the middle brother, John played a special role within his family.  Though his journey in life had its share of bumps, he met each challenge with quiet resilience.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Furlough Purvis; stepfather, Davis E. Purvis; father, Ernest Carson Rhodes, and his brothers, Joseph C. Rhodes and David M. Rhodes. He is survived by his sister, Connie P. Perkins and husband, Kevin; two daughters, and three granddaughters.

A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the Wounded Warrior Project to help veterans.
