Joseph F. "Joe" Gardner 74 passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021 at his home with his family at his side.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, November 7, 2021, 2:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery, with Military Honors. Joe proudly served his country, serving in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Joe was born in Edgecombe County to Joseph S. and Alma Tew Gardner, November 8, 1946. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a son, Bert Dew III; brothers, Freddie and Edward Rook.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Cathy R. Gardner; son, Jeremy Dail and his wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Amber Dew and Bert Dew; great grandchildren, Zoey Barber and Greyson Smith; sister, Susie Wallace.

Family will meet with friends following graveside service at the cemetery Sunday, and other times at the home, 1045 West St. James St., Tarboro, N. C.
