Joyce Cooper (Strickland) Buck, 88, passed away peacefully at her home January 25, 2023.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 29, at Falkland Church of God with Rev. Gordon Braxton officiating. Burial will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park.

She was born in Johnston County, on August 17, 1934 to Eddie Preston and Eula Rose Cooper. She was the first class of nurses to graduate from Edgecombe Community College. She loved nursing and retired at the age of 77. She was a faithful member of Falkland Church of God serving in any capacity needed from cleaning the church to singing a special song during service. She loved the Lord, his word, and prided herself on reading the bible cover to cover at least once a year.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Buck; son, Jim Strickland; grandson, WD Billy Strickland; great grandson, Alex Strickland; and brothers, Aaron and Bobby Cooper.

She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Strickland Wallace (Gregg) and Janet Strickland Keel; brother, Donald Cooper (Vicky); 10 grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Ms. Joyce's caregivers Jenny Knox, Lois House and Jeanne Whichard and also Amedisys Hospice for all the Love and support over the past years.

Visitation with the family will be from 2:00-3:00 PM on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Falkland Church of God.
