JR Harris, 46, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at UNC Nash Hospital.

He was born in Edgecombe County, NC, on March 13, 1979, to the late Johnny Harris and Linda Benson.

JR never met a stranger he wouldn't speak to.  When you left him, you left feeling like you had known him your entire life.  He was a life-long brother and friend to many, who was always willing to share from his pocket as well as his heart.  JR's greatest loves were his children, Caleb Harris, Elizabeth Harris, Joseph Harris, and his Mama.  He was Mama's "Baby Rabbit" and living without her was more than he could bear.

In addition to his parents, JR was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Harris.

He is survived by his loving sisters, Misty Pollock (Daniel), Mary Surles (Charlie), Trina "Dink"; wife, Pamela Gwen Harris; nieces and nephews, Nathanael, Purity, Joy, Truman, Mary K., Jamie, Julie, Kenny, James Dean, and Noah, a chosen son.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at Pollocks' Family Cemetery on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
