Julius Benjamin
(Bennie) Bradley
August 27, 1943 – December 24, 2019
Julius Benjamin (Bennie) Bradley was born in New Port News, Virginia on August 27th, 1943. He moved to Tarboro as a child and attended Tarboro High School where he played football under Coach Alexander. He entered ECU in the Business Administration program. Bennie was drafted in into the US Army in 1964 and was assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He was stationed in Vietnam until 1966. Just before his deployment, Bennie married his high school sweetheart, Edith, on May 7th, 1965. They lived in Tarboro for much of their lives but moved to Arizona and Florida because of Bennie's love of travel. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and later, golfing. His favorite pastime was following his beloved Tarboro Vikings.
Bennie is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Loray Bradley, his brother, David Bradley, and his sister Kathy Bradley. He is survived by his wife, Edith of Raleigh, his daughter Lora Bradley of Raleigh, his triplet grandchildren who were the apple of his eye, Brody, Bradley and Olivia Kurtz, his sister Sandy Camp and her husband Dr. Richard Camp of Tacoma, Washington, his nephew Kevin Camp and wife Melody and their children, his niece Julia Camp and husband Pat Moore and many beloved cousins.
A visitation will be held on Saturday December, 28th from 10:00 to 11:00 am followed by a Memorial Service from 11:00 to 12:00 at Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bennie's memory to St Jude's Children's Hospital Make a donation to end childhood cancer.
