Julius R. Wooten, Jr., 85, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 with his family at his side. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 12 noon at Carlisle Funeral Home with Pastor Jessie Brock and Allen Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park, Tarboro, N.C.

Julius was born August 14, 1937 in Nash County to Julius R. and Mammie Esther Wooten. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steve Wooten, brothers, Ronald Wooten, and Willie Wooten. He retired from ABB Company in Pinetops, N. C. as assistant plant manager after many years of service. He was a member Macripine Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Julius loved his Lord Jesus Christ, family, church family and was a friend to all he met. He will be greatly missed by everyone.

Julius is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 66 years, Jean Webb Wooten; son, Tim Wooten and his wife, Vita; grandchildren, Jennifer Jones and her husband, Grant; Michael Wooten and his wife, Jennifer; great grandchildren, Leah Jones, Peyton Jones, Maddie Wooten, and Noah Wooten. Brother, Travis Wooten and his wife, Peggy.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 11:00 am until 12 noon at Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro,
