Karen Rook Summerlin, 67, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Visitation will be 2:00 - 3:00 PM on Friday, September 25, 2026 at Carlisle Funeral Home with the service following at 3:00 PM in the Chapel. Following the service, the family will gather at Melissa and Robert’s 1534 Batts Chapel Road.

Karen was a loving wife of 47 years, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister & a friend to anyone she ever met. Karen never met a stranger. She had the biggest heart of anyone you have ever met. To know Karen was to love Karen. And if Karen loved you then you were blessed.

Karen was a provider and caregiver to her family and anyone who needed her. She was right there without fail and was the rock to her grandkids and their kids too. She worked out of the home for over 40 years and the last years she spent being a homemaker.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Frederick Milton Rook; mother, Linda McGhee Rook; and brothers, Frederick M. Rook Jr. and Michael J. Rook. She is survived by her husband, Michael Anthony Summerlin; daughters, Melissa Peaden (Robert Bass), Jessica Waters (James Waters), and Geri Summerlin; sister, Lisa R. Daughtry; brothers, Mark Rook and Eddie Rook; grandchildren, Bryant, Van, Mason, Kay-Lynn, Landon, Summer, Haley, Megan, and Lindsay; and great grandchildren, Savannah, BJ, Bryson, Kaiden, Ryder, MJ, and Madison.
