Katherine "Kathy" Windham Lynn passed away on October 31, 2026.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Funeral service will be at 3:00pm on Sunday, November 8, 2026 at Tarboro Church of God with Rev. Sammy Wood officiating the service.
Kathy worked as a controller at Mayo Knitting Mills, where her intelligence, exceptional attention to detail, and natural gift for numbers served her well. She earned her accounting degree after high school and graduated with one of the highest GPAs in her class. She was a gifted problem-solver who never backed away from a challenge.
A woman of unwavering faith, Kathy was a true prayer warrior who stood firmly on God's promises through every season of life. She found joy in gardening, planting flowers, walks on the beach with her beloved dog, Ike, shopping with her girls, and gathering around the table for a competitive game of Sequence or UNO. She loved a good scary movie, a strong cup of morning coffee, and, above all, Christmas. She took great delight in decorating, wrapping presents, and making the holidays magical for those she loved.
More than anything, Kathy cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose love knew no limits. She was a wonderful listener, deeply compassionate, and always made time for her girls, no matter what else was happening. She had a beautiful, infectious laugh, a playful spirit, and a heart that never stopped giving. Her greatest joy was making those she loved feel special, cared for, and cherished. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, generous heart, and the countless ways she made life brighter for those fortunate enough to know her.
Kathy is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Ray Lynn; mother, Minnie Mae Windham; father, Henry Hubert Windham; and Lawrence Franklin Edmundson and David Barry Edmundson.
Shie is survived by her daughters, Shannon Denise Lynn and Tammy Lynn Hale; and grandchildren, Nathan Eli Hale and Mya Kaylee Ellis.
