Kathleen Griggs Wardsworth, 94 passed away Tuesday at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital with her family by her side.

Graveside service will be Saturday, February 22, 2020, 11:00 am, Edgecombe Memorial Park with Pastor Billy Crabtree officiating.

Kathleen was born February 2, 1926 to William and Sadie Boysworth Griggs.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Hassell Ray Wardsworth, Sr.; daughter, Judith Gail Wardsworth Weeks; son, Richard Lee Wardsworth; sister, Juanita Griggs Heiggi; brother, Hoyt Griggs; and granddaughter, Sondra Wardsworth.

Kathleen is survived by her loving family, including daughters, Christine Cochran (Rickie), Elaine Corbett (Larry); son, Hassell Ray Wardsworth, Jr.(Janie); Sister, Sadie Lee Purvis; grandchildren, Robert Andrews (Nicky), Rickie Cochran, Jr., Stephen Corbett (Misty), Laurie Oliver (Michael), Jeffrey Wardsworth (Dorothy) Richard Lee Wardsworth, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Bowie, Katie Grace, Greyson, Sarah, Jacob, Abby, Autumn and Hunter; great-great-grandchild, Addison Williams.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service Saturday at Edgecombe Memorial Park and other times at the home of Christine and Rickie Cochran, Whitakers, N.C.
