Kenneth "Kenny" Carter Thompson, 74, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Carlisle Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Kenny was born in Edgecombe County on May 14, 1946 to the late William "Bill" Thompson and Helen Carter Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Bo Thompson and Julian Thompson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Ann Whitley Thompson; daughter, Sabrina Denise Thompson Lancaster and husband Reed; son, Kenneth Carter Thompson, Jr. and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Mackenzie Shaye Thompson, Gracyn Heather Thompson; sisters, Lorraine Myrick, Kelly Stalls; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Kenny worked with the NC Forest Service and retired after 40 years of service. He was a friend to all. His outgoing personality and his wit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
