Kenneth Karen Phillips, 71, passed away Monday, Feb 21, 2023.

He was born in Edgecombe County on Oct. 23, 1951 to Henry and Alta Phillips.

He was proceeded in death by his father Henry Phillips, his mother Alta Greta Phillips, and his sister Margaret Cook.

He is survived by his son, David Wayne and wife, Melinda G. Phillips of Tarboro, daughter Alta Dean Phillips of New Bern, sisters Janie Britt and husband Joe of Tarboro, Kay Smith and husband Mike of Enfield, grandsons Kendall Phillips of Tarboro, Richard Jones, Jr. of New Bern, Matthew Johnson of Tarboro, granddaughters,  Melissa Winstead of Nashville, Paige Jones of New Bern, and Mackenzie Johnson and fiance Terry Richardson of Tarboro, 4 great-grandchildren, 6 nephews, 1 niece. Kenny loved his garden and his flowers. His dog Cody was always his sidekick.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday Feb 23 at Greenwood Cemetery in Tarboro.
