Kenny Glenn Owens, age 77, of Macclesfield, North Carolina, passed away on July 29, 2026. He was born December 2, 1948 to the late Faye Cale Owens and Joseph Wilson Owens.

Kenny was a graduate of East Carolina University, where he earned his degree in Criminology and Law Enforcement. Kenny was known for his leadership in law enforcement. He served as Director of the Edgecombe County Department of Probation and Parole in Tarboro, NC until his retirement. Kenny also served his country in the NC National Guard.

Music was Kenny’s lifelong passion. He began playing guitar and keyboard at the age of 15 with a local group known as the LTD’s. Later in life he played banjo and guitar with a bluegrass band from Tarboro, NC known as the Tarheel Boys.

He is survived by his daughter Anna Owens; his brother Danny Joe Owens of Macclesfield, NC; his sisters, Sharon Poling of Macclesfield, NC, Deborah Webb McNeely of North Myrtle Beach, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the community of Macclesfield and Edgecombe County for the support they have shown throughout Kenny’s illness. A very special thank you to Betty Harris, CNA and her daughter Zykera for the extraordinary care and faithful service provided to our brother and family over the past 7 years of his illness.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
